Hostmonster Comparison

Hostmonster Vs BlueHost

Both Hostmonster and BlueHost are owned by the same company. That explains the reason for the similarities in their plans. Comparing the two, hostmonster is cheaper if you signup for a two year contract. With support and infrastructure is almost same, it is just a matter of finding the right plan. Bluehost offers shorter contracts(3 months, 6 months) but considering the set up fees applicable, it doesn't make much sense.

Hostmonster Vs Hostgator

Both Hostmonster and Hostgator are two of the fastest frowing hosting companies. There is hardly anything to choose between the two. Both offers excellent uptime, fast response to the support tickets and the support technicians are extremely always willing to walk that extra mile for you. On the plus side, hostmonster offers more add on domains and resources(bandwidth/storage) for the same price. If you have more domains to host, you might find hostmonster a better option.

To be fair with Hostgator, they do not charge any setup fee for a monthly contract. So if you prefer a monthly contract, you might find hostgator a better option.

Hostmonster Vs Startlogic

The choice is much easier. Startlogic has mixed review when it comes to support and uptime. Hostmonster rates a LOT better in both areas. Also, hostmonster uses cPanel which is prefered over vDeck used by startlogic.

Unless you want to save a very small amount on the hosting bill, hostmonster is a lot better option.

Hostmonster Vs IX Web Hosting

Overall hostmonster have a better rating than IX Web Hosting. The advantage with IX Web Hosting is that their smallest plan is dirt cheap. But beware, the same comes without mysql database. For any reasonable needs both are almost similarly priced. But hostmonster plan comes with number of advantages:

  • Hostmonster uses cPanel, which is probably the best control panel. IX uses H-Sphere control panel.
  • Hostmonster allows unlimited domains, compared to 8 domains for IX business plan.
  • Hostmonster has got the best PHP configuration, including custom PHP.INI file
  • Hostmonster has got a better customer support.

Hostmonster Vs Godaddy

Even though godaddy is a well known domain registrar, their reputation is pretty average when it comes to web hosting. Godaddy hosting comes with a lot of limitations including custom control panel. For features, support etc. hostmoster is a MUCH better option. Uptime is also lot better for hostmonster compared to godaddy.

The only advantage with godaddy is that they offer some really cheap packages. Unless price is a major concern, hostmonster is an obviously better choice.
